PAUL WELLER has urged fellow Brit JOHN LYDON to stop clinging to the past - because the punk icon has become the "antithesis" of JOHNNY ROTTEN. The Jam founder admits he shudders every time he sees Lydon on reality TV shows or hears of another planned Sex Pistols reunion. And he has two simple words of advice for the punk star: "Leave it." Weller says, "I don't really understand him anymore. He's become the antithesis of what he once was. Does he need the money? "Perhaps he misses the adulation, the buzz. Nostalgia has become a whole industry in itself... and I don't like it. You can never recapture what has gone." Paul Weller And John Lydon At The Mojo Awards
It appears that Paul is chomping at the bit to release this album! I know he has said in recent interviews that the album is ready and it's release timing is up to the label, though he thinks it fresh and current and wants to get it out ASAP...
ReplyDeletei hope this isn't the cover art.
ReplyDeletemaybe he's rushing so much to get this one out there was no time to get something decent for the cover. Anyway album cover art is dead, although I did really love the art for 22 dreams. This one looks rushed and like whatever. From what I have heard of the music though it is going to be a great album even if it wont look so good on top of the cd player.
ReplyDeleteWho cares what the cover looks like? The music will do the talking.
