The Who's Roger Daltrey Joins Paul Weller On Stage At Bedgebury Forest!

Paul Weller welcomed a surprise guest at his Forest Live concert at Bedgebury Pinetum & Forest in Kent. Roger Daltrey joined Paul for rousing renditions of The Who's classic tunes, "Substitute" and "I Can't Explain." Roger also accompanied Weller on his own "The Changingman." As you might expect, the crowd went wild and the band were all smiles! You can check out some footage below!

Paul Weller At Sherwood Pines!

Paul Weller started off his run of Forest Live concerts at Sherwood Forest. By all accounts, it was a wonderful evening.

Paul Weller kicked off his run of Forest Live shows with a storming performance at Sherwood Pines, Nottingham. Fresh from his European dates, the Modfather played a set featuring two encores, supported by young up-and-coming groups The Merrylees and The Rails.

But the night belonged to a rejuvinated Weller, who played a variety of hits from his long career. His set started with three staples of his recent live performamces; Sunflower, From the Floorboards Up and Wake Up The Nation. These powerfully-riffed songs were followed by 2010's Fast Car/Slow Traffic, and another offering from 2005's As Is Now, Come On/Let's Go. The crowd's volume was brought right back up following the superb Sea Spray from 2008's 22 Dreams and That D…

The Style Council - Mr. Cool's Dream Book Released! Our Interview With Author Iain Munn!

The ONLY book in the world solely dedicated to The Style Council is Mr. Cool's Dream. We've been reviewing a copy here at PWNews and, quite simply, we can't recommend it enough. The book has been a passion project by Iain Munn, who has been vigilant in carrying on the legacy of Paul Weller's post Jam project that often gets lost in the shadow of The Jam. But there can be no doubt! There are fans out there as passionate as those hard core Jam fans for what many still affectionately call, "probably the best pop group in the world!"
We were lucky to catch Iain amidst the frenzy of filling, packaging and sending out orders for the book and he was gracious enough to answer a few questions about the project.
I suppose the obvious question is, why did you decide to write a book about The Style Council? When did you become a fan?
I have been interested in The Style Council going back as far as my musical memory will take me. I was 13 in 1983, Long Hot Summer it was. I…

Paul Weller's More Modern Classics Debuts At Number 6 On The UK Charts!

With a debut of number 6, Paul Weller's More Modern Classics notches the 31st TOP TEN placing of his career, including The Jam and The Style Council, all according to the official UK charts. MMC had a mid-week position of 8, but got a sales push and overtook three releases from the mighty Led Zeppelin. Congrats to Paul!

Steve Pilgrim is the drummer with Paul Weller’s band and is one of the founding members of the charity Be One Percent.  Paul has been supporting this charity for a while now and when booking his summer touring, he thought it would be good to do a small show in Liverpool to help raise much needed funds for the charity.

Be One Percent is a network of individuals who commit to giving 1% of their income each month to help the world’s poorest people.  It’s a simple idea.  By giving as a network we create a powerful and effective fundraising mechanism, which means that together, we make a greater impact for some of the worlds poorest co…
