New Live Dates

Paul Weller is to play two live dates in the next couple of months. The first is the Crisis Consequences Concert at the Roundhouse, along with the likes of Graham Coxon and Dirty Pretty Things. Tickets are from £45 are can be order online at www.roundhouse.org.uk The second date is rumoured to be at The Marquee in Cork on the 6th July, with tickets going on sale 7th February at Ticketmaster.ie .

Weller to Work With Aziz Ibrahim

According to NME.com Paul Weller is to work with ex-Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim on a new LP. Full report: Ex-Stone Roses man to play London club night gig Ex-Stone Roses and Ian Brown band guitarist Aziz Ibrahim will play his debut solo London gig on Saturday night (January 26) at London’s Sin venue. The gig will be part of the This Feeling club night, which has previously seen a live set from The Enemy. Oasis’ Noel Gallagher, Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner and Kasabian are regular visitors to the club night, which features house DJs playing classic indie hits and new music. Ibrahim will play Ian Brown songs as well as his own material. He is set to work with Paul Weller on a forthcoming album. Tickets can be bought through the Myspace.com/thisfeelingclub.

Here's a recent quote from Drew Hipson, the creator of the legendary All Mod Icon fanzine. "Paul has recorded a new album, Steve White only plays on one or two tracks, other musicians were involved, there has been no fall-out between the pair, Steve doesn't know Paul's plans regarding the tour... Paul Weller's New Album Released In May?

Just a little snippet of info from the Ocean Colour Scene web site a few days ago hinted at the possible release date for the new Paul Weller Album. From Chris Cradock: "Steve (Cradock) will have a diary message for you soon, he has been busy with Paul Weller putting the finishing touches to PW’s album due May."

A Message From Universal Regarding Releases In '08.

A recent message from Universal Music to John Abnett , the man behind "The Jam 30 th Anniversary Petition." My original petition is now a year old, thanks to all that have signed. Below is a reply to my e-mail sent to Universal last week. My guess is that now Weller has turned full circle and is back at Universal, we are only going to see his solo work pushed. "Thanks Jon. No further Jam releases planned this year – we are looking at a Paul Weller BBC collection though and see what happens with his new album. More news to follow…"

No More Whitey?

Paul Weller's drummer, Steve White, has told fans on his website that he won't be on the road with Weller for the foreseeable future. From whiteydrums.com: With regards to PW what is the score with the new album? How much have you heard? Is it any good and will you be part of his live band? "Paul, I believe is well into recording, as regards touring, I don't know what he has up his sleeve, but at this point i am not planning to be on the road in the foreseable future, if it changes i will drop a line in the news page.To be honest i've got a number of other fairly big commitements looming anyway".

Paul Weller appears on "The Wire" soundtrack!

Paul Weller's version of I Walk On Gilded Splinters is featured on the soundtrack to one of the finest shows HBO has ever produced called , "The Wire." The show is a gritty drama set in Baltimore, Maryland. The track was featured in the final episode from Season 4.
