Paul Weller/Gabrielle Collaboration

Weller is to feature on 'Why' - the new single from Gabrielle. The song, which contains a sample from 'Wild Wood', features Weller on backing vocals and acoustic guitar. From FemaleFirst.co.uk: Gabrielle, one of the UK’s most successful female singer-songwriters, returns with her classy new single, ‘Why’ on September 24th through Universal Music Record Label. The single will be available to download from September 17th. The idea for ‘Why’ came when Gabrielle was working in the studio with The Boilerhouse Boys. The song is built around a sample from Paul Weller’s ‘Wild Wood’ and was one of the final songs Gabrielle wrote for her new album. After recording a demo, the track was re-recorded with Paul Weller playing guitar and singing backing vocals. ‘Why’ is taken from Gabrielle’s new album Always which will be released on October 1st. Paul Weller/Candie Payne Collaboration

Paul Weller is to feature on the latest single of artist Candie Payne. The song 'Shopping' was originally a Jam B-Side and has been recorded by Candie with Weller on guitar and vocals. From Candies Myspace: You'll know by now that Candie's new single 'One More Chance' was produced by man of the moment Mark Ronson. It also features backing vocals from Candie's brother Sean and his fellow Zutons Abi Harding and Russell Pritchard. The 7" B-side, Shopping, was written by Paul Weller and features the great man himself on guitar and vocals, whilst the CD version features an inspired cover of the Bugsy Malone classic Ordinary Fool. ICA Gig Cancelled

The acoustic gig/talk at London's ICA is rumoured to have been cancelled. Staff are phoning customers to say that this is due to 'organisation difficulties', with no plans to reschedule.

Acoustic Set at the Astoria

Musicians and bands spanning the last 30 years will come together for this special performance. The first confirmed acts include The Charlatans’ Tim Burgess, Paul Weller, Candie Payne, a rare appearance from Dee C Lee and Ocean Colour Scene.Tickets are on sale from Friday 10 August and are priced at £35. They are on sale at the venue and here. All proceeds from the gig will go direct to Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, the largest music therapy charity in the UK, and will help them to provide over 30,000 music therapy sessions every year across the UK. The Astoria and the artists are giving their time to the charity free of charge and other costs are being met by the support of sponsors, including Gibson Guitars. Intimate Gig at London's ICA

from ica.org.uk: " Paul Weller, one of British music's true originals, comes to the ICA to celebrate 30 years of making music and the publication of Suburban 100 , an annotated story of his life through the lyrics from 100 of his best-known songs with The Jam, The Style Council and as a solo artist. Weller will read from his lyrics, talk about their origins and sing some of his songs. £10 / £9 Concessions / £8 ICA Members" The first phase of tickets for this event went on sale on the 31/07 by calling the ICA's box office, but soon sold out the same day. The second phase went on sale yesterday (06/08) and were available to book either by phone or via the ICA's website. Again, these sold out. A number of tickets have been reserved for ICA members only and will go on sale on 20/08/06. Any tickets left over from this will be offered on public sale 01/09/07.
