'22 Dreams' Set For US Release on July 22, 2008

Paul Weller's 22 Dreams- his first new album in three years- set for July 22.

Noel Gallagher, Graham Coxon and others join Weller for twenty-one kaleidoscopic tracks of rock, soul, avant garde, electronica and more.

One year in the making. Seventy Minutes in length. Twenty-one songs. 22 Dreams.

After a three year recording hiatus - during which he played two historic concert series in NYC and LA devoting one evening each to his Jam, Style Council, and solo catalogs, and earned Lifetime Achievement honors at the 2007 Brit Awards, among other highlights - Paul Weller returns on July 22 with 22 Dreams, (Yep Roc) his ninth solo album and the most ambitious of his career.

NOTE: There have been some reports of June 24 as the release date. I have confirmed with Yep Roc that the actual release date is indeed July 22.

Paul Weller On John Lydon!

PAUL WELLER has urged fellow Brit JOHN LYDON to stop clinging to the past - because the punk icon has become the "antithesis" of JOHNNY ROTTEN. The Jam founder admits he shudders every time he sees Lydon on reality TV shows or hears of another planned Sex Pistols reunion. And he has two simple words of advice for the punk star: "Leave it." Weller says, "I don't really understand him anymore. He's become the antithesis of what he once was. Does he need the money? "Perhaps he misses the adulation, the buzz. Nostalgia has become a whole industry in itself... and I don't like it. You can never recapture what has gone." Paul Weller And John Lydon At The Mojo Awards
