Paul Weller/Candie Payne Collaboration

Paul Weller is to feature on the latest single of artist Candie Payne. The song 'Shopping' was originally a Jam B-Side and has been recorded by Candie with Weller on guitar and vocals.

From Candies Myspace:

You'll know by now that Candie's new single 'One More Chance' was produced by man of the moment Mark Ronson. It also features backing vocals from Candie's brother Sean and his fellow Zutons Abi Harding and Russell Pritchard. The 7" B-side, Shopping, was written by Paul Weller and features the great man himself on guitar and vocals, whilst the CD version features an inspired cover of the Bugsy Malone classic Ordinary Fool.
The single's out on 3rd September on CD and 7", but from this Monday (13th August) you can download it from iTunes.

Paul Weller On John Lydon!

PAUL WELLER has urged fellow Brit JOHN LYDON to stop clinging to the past - because the punk icon has become the "antithesis" of JOHNNY ROTTEN. The Jam founder admits he shudders every time he sees Lydon on reality TV shows or hears of another planned Sex Pistols reunion. And he has two simple words of advice for the punk star: "Leave it." Weller says, "I don't really understand him anymore. He's become the antithesis of what he once was. Does he need the money? "Perhaps he misses the adulation, the buzz. Nostalgia has become a whole industry in itself... and I don't like it. You can never recapture what has gone." Paul Weller And John Lydon At The Mojo Awards
