'A Thousand Things' Book Launch Recap!

3rd June 2008
A THOUSAND THINGS - THE LONDON LAUNCH
Paul Weller - A Thousand Things

Paul Weller’s A Thousand Things celebrated its launch last night at the flagship Paul Smith store in Covent Garden, London. Copies of the limited edition were on display alongside framed photographs from the book, all set to the backdrop of Paul Smith’s handsome clothes. Weller released his new album, ‘22 Dreams’ the same day but, although very busy, both Paul and Sir Paul Smith took the time to sign an Epiphone Casino guitar donated by Gibson that will be auctioned for charity later this year. A Thousand Things proved very popular with the guests, among them Genesis designer Simon Halfon and author Geoff MacCormack whose travels with Bowie from 1973-76 are the subject of his signed limited edition, From Station to Station. Noted photographers such as Lawrence Watson and Pennie Smith mingled with musicians from Hard-Fi and The Kaiser Chiefs, as well as footballer Lee Dixon, and DJs Gary Crowley and Eddie Piller, all coming together in respect for the Modfather.

Genesis would like to thank everyone at Paul Smith for hosting the event and all those that attended.
A Thousand Things can be purchased at Genesis Publications.

Repost From The Huffington Post By: Jason Holmes Paul Weller bounds into his chair, an electronic cigarette gripped in his hand. We're in the BBC's Studio Three in Maida Vale. Visibly calm owing to post-tour exhaustion and a morning trip to the gym, Weller is here to be interviewed by John Wilson for BBC Radio 4's Mastertapes series. "Back in those days, bands put out an album a year, you toured with it for a year, then you went back in the studio and repeated the process. Looking back, I was glad I experienced that pressure. It helped me refine my craft and find myself as a writer. It kept me on my toes," says Weller, Gibson acoustic on knee. "It wasn't a treadmill, it was just what bands did back then. I never questioned it." Lest the passing decades dim...
